What Is JD Network?
JD Network is a selective early-access program for exceptional incoming 1L students who are interested in large law firm careers.
The program connects high-performing students from top law schools with leading law firms before the traditional recruiting cycle—while also providing substantial academic and professional support during the critical first semester of law school.
JD Network is not early recruiting. It is an opportunity to:

What Students Receive
Students selected for JD Network receive significant academic, professional, and recruiting support.
All JD Network students receive:
Law School Academic Resources
All students receive JD Advising’s Law School Outlines, sponsored by participating law firms.
JD Network Networking Summit (Program Kickoff)
The program begins with the JD Network Networking Summit, held in early August before law school starts. The Summit includes:
- Introductions to participating law firms
- Firm-led discussions
- Expert-led sessions
- Structured breakout conversations
Career & Recruiting Education
All students receive access to a dedicated recruiting insights event, including:
- How law firm recruiting works
- How to evaluate opportunities and firm fit
- Guidance on navigating recruiting timelines and offers
JD Network Office Hours
All students have access to four JD Network Office Hours, covering:
- How to succeed in your 1L year
- Outlining and study strategy
- Exam writing using IRAC
- Time management and finals preparation
Selected students receive additional sponsored support:
Academic Support

Some students are selected to receive firm-sponsored private tutoring, including:
- Support focused on doctrinal courses, outlining, and exam skills
- Six one-on-one tutoring sessions
Mentoring & Coffee Chats
(Sponsored Students)
Sponsored students may also participate in:
- Formal mentorship from a chosen attorney at your sponsored firm
- Informal coffee chats with attorneys at participating firms
(Tutoring and mentoring opportunities are limited and determined by JD Advising.)
Who Is Eligible?
JD Network is highly selective.
Applicants must:
- Be admitted to or enrolled at a top 25 U.S. law school [the last three ranking cycles (2024–2026)]
- Have exceptional academic credentials (LSAT, GPA, and/or significant achievements)
- Have a demonstrated interest in large law firm practice

- Priority deadline: June 30, 2026
- We accept students on a rolling basis, so applying early gives you an advantage!
- Application deadline: July 25, 2026
- Spots are limited.

No. Participation is free for students.
We review academic credentials, personal statements, and your demonstrated interest in BigLaw. We’re looking for high-performing students who are serious about launching elite legal careers.
We do our best to match students with firms that align with their practice area interests and preferred geographic locations. While you won’t “choose” your firm, the matching process is highly personalized.
This program does not guarantee employment, but it provides you an unparalleled opportunity to build relationships and position yourself for career success early on.
This is a highly selective program. Students who are accepted must meet the eligibility requirements. We do not have a limit on the number of students accepted as long as they meet the eligibility requirements.
We have two programs aimed at incoming law students.
The JD Scholars Program is ideal for incoming law students passionate about diversity and inclusion, providing support and mentorship from law firms that share these values.
The JD Network Program is designed for incoming 1L students at top-ranked (T-25) law schools, providing elite mentorship opportunities and accelerated pathways into prestigious big law careers.
